Melissa Assael, Vice President of Marketing
Originally from New York, Melissa moved with her family to Boca Raton, Florida where she graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Education. While teaching in Florida, she met her husband Brian and together they moved to Walnut Creek, CA.
She has raised two beautiful girls. One of whom was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 2. She has become well versed on Diabetes care – managing blood sugars, diet, insulin and pump care. Melissa has been an active volunteer at the girls’ schools as well as with their extracurricular activities.
Melissa has volunteered for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Meals on Wheels, White Pony Express and the Monument Crisis Center. Melissa has always lived an active lifestyle and is keenly aware of good health and nutrition. Being diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2007, initiated her to gain further knowledge of health and wellness. She continued her education and is now a Certified Health Coach with a focus on nutrition.
Melissa became passionate about in-home care, after she and her family struggled to find trustworthy, compassionate quality care for her terminally ill in-laws and mother. Golden Heart is thrilled that Melissa has joined the Golden Heart Team. She is dedicated and committed to making life better for you and your loved ones.
I recommend Golden Heart to anyone who needs assistance with a living environment either for themselves or their loved ones. They took the time to do an in-depth interview with my wife and I along with my Dad who was in need of 24/7 care. He remained extremely lucid so he was able to express his desires during the interview, some of which were well outside what would normally be expected. Golden Heart was able to assign people very well suited to Dad’s needs, his personality, and his demeanor. They furnished the best of care, on short notice, through the end of my Dad’s life.
